After breakfast visit Peradeniya Botanical Garden. Evening Visit to Gregory Lake and Victoria Park

Peradeniya Botanical garden or the Royal Botanical garden is a place not miss in a day tour to Kandy. The garden is situated 6km away from the central Kandy. On your way to the city of light, you can see the water fall in the World named Ramboda Falls. Ramboda water fall is 109m in height and it is the 11th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. This beautiful waterfall situated in the Pussellawa area of Nuwara Eliya.

In the evening you can relax yourself with Nuwara Eliya’s fine weather. Gregory Lake is a place of adventure, with the stunning site of the Gregory Lake, you can take a bicycle ride around the lake or can have a boat ride around the lake.

Victoria Park is one of best places to spend your evening, Nanu Oya river make it’s way through this park making several number of small lakes. Safari at Yala National Park

Tissamaharama is also known as “Tissa”. Tissa is mostly flat grounded area, on your way to Tissa, you can see whitish Dagaba in one side, and on the other side the huge forest with hide many creatures. Tissa Wewa Lake makes a stunning lake side for the area, but the most attracted places in & around Tissa are Yala and Bundala National Parks.

Yala National park is the most visited and the second largest national park is Sri Lanka, which boarders to the Indian ocean. Whole area of the Yala has divided in to five blocks two blocks which are open for public now. Special thing about some of these blocks are, those are adjoining with other national parks like Kumana National Park (Kumana is popular among Birds Watchers).

Safari at Yala National Park

Yala National park is famous for its variety of wild animals. Highlights of this park are wild Elephants, aquatic Birds and Sri Lankan Leopards. If you are a bird watcher, this is the best chance to see many water birds in one place, because of the Yala lagoon, there is huge number of water birds around. There are around 90 species of water birds inhabiting in Yala wet area and half of those species are migrants. There are some rare bird species spotted around Yala lagoon such as Oriental Darter, Purple Heron, Egrets, Purple Swamphen and Night Herons. Residence bird species such as Lesser Whistling Duck, Great Stone-Curlew, Yellow-Wattled Lapwing and Red-Wattled Lapwing are mingled with visiting species. Also, you will be able to see forest birds like Asian Barbets, Old World Flycatchers and Orange-Breasted Green Pigeon. Apart from the birds, Yala is home for 300-350 Sri Lankan Wild Elephants and Yala has the highest Leopard concentration in the World.

After breakfast proceed to Udawalawa and visit Elephant Transit Place in Udawalawe.

Udawalawe National Park if you’ve ever wanted to see a wild elephant, you’re unlikely to find a better place to do than this park.With herd of elephants,wild buffalo,sambar deer and leopard etc.

Udawalawa lies on the border of Sabaragamuwa and Uva province, a destination for bird watching. Udawalawa National Park attracts many wild animals because of the Udawalawa Reservoir. Udawalawa National Park is an ideal place to watch Asian wild Elephants, because of these wild jumbos, the Udawalawa National Park is the third most visited national park in Sri Lanka.

Apart from elephants there are more strainers in this forest, there are some animals which live in this national park are very rare in the earth, Sri Lankan sloth bear is one of those rare animals. Rusty-spotted cat, Fishing cat and Sri Lankan leopard are the cat family animals reside in Udawalawa National Park. Sri Lankan Sambar Deer, Indian Muntjac, Deer, Sri Lankan Axis, Wild Boar, Sri Lankan Spotted Chevrotain are the mammals live in this park. Apart from these species and animal there are many more to find.

If you are a bird watcher, Udawalawa has more for you. There are migrant birds like Black-Capped Kingfisher and White Wagtail, water birds like Spot-Billed Pelican, Cormorants, Black-Headed Ibis, Eurasian Spoonbill , Painted Stork etc. This wide open parkland attracts raptor birds like Changeable Hawk-Eagle, Crested Serpent-Eagle, White-Bellied Sea Eagle, Grey-Headed Fish Eagle too.

After breakfast proceed to Sinharaja, which Forest Reserve is a national park and a biodiversity hotspot in Sri Lanka. It is of international significance and has been designated a Biosphere Reserve and World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

Sinharajah is the huge rain forest in Sri Lanka which homes both humans and every kind of animals. Sinharajah is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This forest is in the south-west wet zone of Sri Lanka and located within Sbaragamuwa and Southern provinces. Sinharajah forest bordered from north and south by two rivers, south by Gin Ganga and north by Koskulana Ganga. You can change your footwear for a long walk and, be ready to go through Sinharajah, because the only way of going across the Sinharajah reserve is by foot.

In this forest there are 19 species of 20 Sri Lanka endemic birds lives among these huge trees, such as Ceylon Hanging Parrot, Ashy-headed Laughing Thrush, Jungle Fowl etc. Not only the birds but also 8 out of 12 endemic mammals found in here such as Giant squirrel, Spur Fowl and etc. On the walk in Sinharajah you can see all these animals and plants. The butterflies in the reserve are a bonus beauty treatment for your visit. Also, on your way, you can spot reptiles and amphibia too.

In the border of the Sinharajah forest there are some villages. Those villagers are well integrated with the forest. They trekked across the forest for generations to make their annual pilgrimage to the Adams Peak. They spend their day today life in this forest with these trees and animals, they know the foot paths of the forest well. Dutch Fort Galle or the Galle Fort, was first built by the Portuguese in the Southwest coast of Sri Lanka. But the these walls built by black bricks was ruled under few governs. This fort is the heat of the Galle even in past, even before Portuguese arrived to Sri Lanka in 16th century. The Galle fort is named as UNESCO World Heritage site, because of the historical & colonial value of this place. Galle is a famous town but Galle fort is not the only reason, but also Galle international stadium is the one of most attractive cricket ground in the world.

Leisure at Beach

Today onward you can relax yourself in the one of most beautiful beach in Sri Lanka, the Bentota Beach. Bentota beach is one of the widest beach in Sri Lanka, this sandy beach allows you to have nice sunbathe and enjoy yourself with water sports. Bentota beach is an ideal place for wind surfing, diving, sailing, water-skiing, snorkeling and deep-sea fishing on a traditional outrigger canoe.
